4.8 million U.S. homes were identified at high or extreme risk of wildfire, with more than 2 million in California alone. Losses from wildfires added up to $5.1 billion over the past 10 years.* IBHS believes improving codes and installation guidance will result in reduced losses.

Hazard Mitigation Plan - The HMP is a County-Wide planning document designed to identify the hazards faced by Weld County communities and citizens and proactively reduce the risks of hazards that could impact communities. The webpage also provides links to every jurisdiction within Weld County that has a CWPP.

Wildfire Partner Program - promotes active shared engagement with citizens to increase wildfire resiliency, both before and after wildfire events. Wildfire Partners cultivates a neighbors-helping-neighbors approach to prepare homes, properties, roadways, homeowners associations, and businesses by reducing risk. We seek to promote wildfire resiliency, and the potential for lives, livelihoods, homes, and properties to resist, survive, and thrive following a wildfire event. 

How to Prevent Wildfires and Protect Your Home - Poudre Fire Authority offers Home Ignition Zone Assessments (HIZAs) and customized classes about wildfire preparedness. 

Community Wildfire Preparedness - Loveland Fire Rescue Authority is partnering with The Ember Alliance to build a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is a plan that identifies specific wildland fire risks facing communities and neighborhoods and provides prioritized recommendations to reduce those risks.
